Sports and leisure activities

As a family or with friends, feel free to climb, jump, slide, paddle, sail, gallop, aim, fly… And always have fun! Sport and leisure activities abound in the Heart of the Bay, and to stay in shape, there is something for everyone to enjoy: horseback riding, golf, strolling through gardens, visiting the theme parks, karting, skating, playing team sports at the “city stade”, participating in paintball, fishing, playing tennis or squash, canoeing, sailing, paddling, and taking part in the Cap 33 sports activities.

A bit of exercise!

Heritage and culture

Culture is omnipresent in the Heart of the Bay, which includes: two performing arts centres, a cinema, three media libraries, two libraries and an artist’s hut on the port of Audenge, where a number of works by painters, sculptors and craftsmen are on exhibit. Associations also contribute to the development of the local culture and the safeguarding of our heritage. Such is the case for Gardarem, the “memory keeper” of the Old port of Taussat, which conserves ancient tools used by oyster farmers and pine tappers of yore. These many points of interest offer an opportunity to read, learn, and contemplate objects filled with history and expertise in a most enjoyable way.

A spot of culture...

Relaxation and well-being

So it's hot and you're dreaming of taking a refreshing swim or playing in the water with your children. You head for the nearest beach, but once you get there, you realise that the tide is out. Fortunately, two swimming areas are provided to fulfil your wishes. When the tide is low, you may swim at the port of Audenge, the longest outdoor seawater swimming pool in Europe, complete with access for the handicapped; or at the swimming area of Lanton Beach, complete with amenities and the "Handiplage" label. If you're looking for tranquillity and relaxation, enjoy a break in one of the spas of the Heart of the Bay.

Relax!
